BSM/BSC Maintenance Procedures Summary
BSM/BSM 維護程序概要
The purpose of this document is to establish a practice that will be carried out during specific time intervals by the Nortel Post-Inservice Support group or the Customer BSC Prime in an attempt to prevent possible future outages and service impacts due to a lack of maintenance and attention paid to the network elements.
For the BSC and BSM, there is a guideline set of procedures that should be followed to help ensure a healthy smooth-running problem-free network.
此文件的目的主要是建立一個規(guī)范性的程序，
通過北電的現場服務工程師或客戶的BSC工程師定

Daily Procedures

- BSM Snapshot. Backup the BSM Snapshot to tape and transfer it to the inactive BSM.

- Ensure the cronjob is running.

- Check the LED’s for the DISCO, TFU, SBS, CDSU and GPS on the BSC line-up. (Helmsman reference ’BSC Maintenance and Troubleshooting’ 411-2133-501 Section 2-1)
檢查DISCO，TFU，SBS，CDSU，GPS的
接線及 LED 燈是否正常。(參考Helmsman” ’BSC Maintenance and Troubleshooting’ 411-2133-501 Section 2-1).

- Database cleanup – reducing the size of the database partition (/opt/bsm/db)
數據庫整理 – 減少數據占用空間(/opt/bsm/db)
- Check the disk partitions (using the command df –k)
檢查磁盤分區(qū)(用命令：df –k)
- Reboot the BSM and **Swact activity over to the Redundant unit
重新啟動 BSM, 從主用BSM切換到備用BSM。
**Swact Procedures
切換程序
EVERY TWO WEEKS. SWACT the BSMs. First create a snapshot of the active BSM database. Then copy this file over to the inactive BSM. Next restore the current database on the inactive BSM, start the inactive BSM so that it becomes the active BSM. (Helmsman reference 411-2133-541 section 3-1)
每兩周作一次BSM之間的切換。

the fan plenum filters for all of the BSC cabinets.

BSM Snapshot:
BSM Snapshot
Automatically performed at 6am and 6pm each day with the cronjob and saved in /opt/bsm/db/backup.
The log files are kept in /opt/bsm/log/oodbg/dbbackup.log and you can do a ‘more’ or ‘cat’ on this dbbackup.log file and verify for errors prior to exporting a copy to the inactive BSM or tape.
Cronjob工具每天早6點和晚6點將自動在/opt/bsm/db/backup下生成一個snapshot文件。log文件將
保存在/opt/bsm/oodbg/dbbackup.log目錄下。在將最新的snapshot拷貝到備用的BSM上或磁帶上之前，可以用“more”或”cat”命令查看dbbackup.log文件，看其是否有錯誤。
