1. Introduction

This document lists the alarms and events for RNC.

NOTE: Users of this document should have sufficient knowledge of Excel before using the Sort and Filter functions.

1.1 Alarms
The RNC issues an alarm notification when afault condition occurs. Alarms issued are presented to a user and require operation and maintenance actions to restore functionality, or prevent a more serious situation from developing.

The following information is provided for each alarm:

- specificProblem Contains a string representing the particular problem which is also the alarm name or slogan
presented in the management system alarm list and alarm logs. It is also the title of
the corresponding alarm operating instruction.

- eventTypeIndicates type of events. The following values are possible:
- Communications Alarm
- Processing Error Alarm
- Environmental Alarm
- Quality of Service Alarm
- Equipment Alarm

- probableCauseProvides information on the likely cause of the alarm

- perceivedSeverityIndicates the relative level of urgency for operator attention:
- CriticalThe alarm requires immediate action, even outside of working hours
- MajorThe alarm requires immediate action, within working hours
- MinorThe alarm requires action at a suitable time or, at least, continuous close observation
- Warning The alarm requires that corrective action is taken on a scheduled maintenance basis

- Managed ObjectIndicates the managed object that issued the alarm

1.2 Events (Fault Management)
The system issues an FM event notification when something of importance happens that does not trigger an alarm, but is considered significant enough to be presented for a user. FM events are stateless notifications.FM events are displayed in event logs in the Element Manager and in alarm list and logs in OSS and other external management system tools.

The following information is provided for each event:

- specificEventContains a string representing the particular event which is also the name or slogan
presented in the management system tools.

- DescriptionAn explanation of the event.

- Managed Object Indicates the managed object that issued the event.
