Troubleshooting the Flexi WCDMA BTS
When a base station (BTS) reports an alarm, some basic steps need be taken to investigate the problem

Most of the troubleshooting actions can be performed remotely, but may also be required in local on-site troubleshooting

Flexi WCDMA BTS is an integrated and modular BTS for which mainly reset operations and module changes are needed


Information Sources in Fault Situations
Alarms
Alarms are the primary source of information in most situations where troubleshooting is needed
Alarms are printed out on the alarm printer and/or other devices that you have specified for the network element
BTS documentation
BTS documentation is delivered via Nokia Online Services (NOLS)
Access to the web pages is confined and information is delivered via your local Nokia Siemens Networks representative
Technical Notes, SW release documentation, such as Generic Faults and Release Note, can be the reference.
BTS log files
Snapshot files are useful for troubleshooting purposes and must be attached when RESOLVE case is raised to Tier 3
Logs can be fetched locally or remotely with WCDMA BTS Site Manager
