Short Description: The composite available capacity (CAC) load information exchanged over the X2 interface in considered for inter-frequency load balancing.

Benefits for the Customer: The functionality allows to a more fine granular balancing.

Functional Description: The Flexi Multiradio BTS considers the CAC for inter-frequency load balancing and supports a periodic inter-ferquency load balancing retry.

The resource status procedure for the exchange of the composite available capacity (CAC) between eNode Bs is supported. The X2AP: Resource Status Request message with periodic reporting is sent after a successfull X2 setup to all inter-frequency eNode Bs. The reporting period of the resource status response is operator configurable. The preported CAC is used as a primary criteria to select the target cell for inter-frequency load balancing.

The feature introduces as well a periodic load balancing retry of RRC connected users. The retries are performed as long as the source cell is at high load. The retry priodicity is operator configurable.

The functionality can be enabled per eNode B by O&M settings
