Dear all
Since the free version of GSM application 7.X was published on several communication web sites, it has earned lots of supports and commendation, and I would like to express our deeply gratitude to all of you. And now, a more professional and powerful version: GSM application 8.0 is released.
My aim is to make an advanced optimization application in wireless network, make it professional, make it different, make it powerful and apply to more different vendors. More time will be spent and more effort will be done to develop it in 2008. I would like to challenge myself, try to surpass myself and exceed the limit of idea. I believe that my hard work will lead to a good result with my passion, willpower, insistence and concentration. But creation is a hard work, and the excellent production needs more great supports from all of you. The GSM application 8.0 must bring you a big surprise, Why not have a try?
The Function and Feature of GSM application8.x
【Map Operation Module】
1.Support Line style and Sector style base station making: Cell map can be created with only one EXCEL table, such as celldata.csv. You can do transformation between map and form easily. It will be as well to support dual band network with combination of 900 and 1800 layer. Of course, we can import the new station data from template.csv and then append it to our map. By the way, it offers more convenient function during our site operation.
2.Special map refresh and customize function: as fore mentioned, we can generate base site map in Line style and Sector style. As well, it offers map refresh function, so it supports following operation: move site location, regulate cell bearing and add new station.
3.Map Re-zoom function: When generate new base station map and apply map refresh, it supports fixed Re-zoom and self-adaptive Re-zoom.
4.Borer region generator: it can create border region base on MSC, LAC or BSC, it offer Filter feature during border making, this feature is useful when it applied to the
united network with many different regional city. As well as, color making and label making are available and optional feature.
5.Interactive updating various data: such as frequency data, neighbor data, configuration data HO statistics which saved in *.csv format; so you can update these key information to corresponding columns in cell map, it can update twenty columns of information one time. At the same time, it provides you a corresponding allocation relation configuration and storing application. In my point of view, it meet requirement of importing varied data. It is also very convenient and suitable for different vendors. I am sure that you’ll make things easier with this application.
6.Position a cell location: locate a cell quickly with CI or Cell_name, it support string searching in vague matching mode and the accurate matching mode. For the NOKIA system, it can also search for a cell with BSC+BTS (master BTS identity).
【RF Optimization Module】
1.Frequency plan application: It's presented in three primary colors: red, blue and green. The common channel interference is deployed in Red color, upper adjacent channel is deployed in Blue color; lower adjacent channel is deployed in Green color.
2.Alterable TCH numbers: If offers general our common channel and adjacent channel analysis to BCCH & TCH. Available Frequency list involve BCCH & TCH1、TCH2、TCH3……TCHmax, where max < = 24, that is to say the amount of TCH is alteralble, so it can be more conveniently applied to different network and meet the requirements of your operator. Of cause, you can also select the any combination of TCH from TCH1~TCH24, so it can indicate the TRX slot of the base station.
3.BSIC plan application: If offers two ways to fix same BCCH and same BSIC issue. It can be done base on cell database and neighbor database. For example, during our analysis from cell database, it can generate a same BCCH &same BSIC map layer in appointed distance, the diagnosis output are prompted by making line connection. The issues can be fixed together with BSIC plan querying of specified BCCH channel..
4.RF reuse rate audit: It can do RF reuse rate audit in an appointed area by run <RF reusage rated audit> menu.
5.RF hit rate audit: It analyzes the channel interference base on neighbor database or HO statistics. It can give us a good reference of channel crash distribution by querying the HO counter of each sector. In fact, the interference may be caused by the problematic orientation, bad beam width or front-back ratio of antenna. All of crash situation are beyond our imagination. In my opinion, it will provide you a basic and advanced channel audit function.
6.Search for preferred channel: preferred channel are calculated and generated based on Path Loss of Standard Propagation Model, all available channels are indexed base on simulation of interference level. Analysis is the whole RF band involved in GSM, DCS and EGSM. Available frequency can be set up from check list, and the setting by user will be called automatically. Every channel has a receive level by simulation from –11o to –43dbm. It improves our optimization efficiency in the course of troubleshooting of Radio Frequency Hit
【Neighbor Optimization Module】
1.Neighbor inquiry application: unidirectional neighbor warning, it is shown in a special display mode. Unknown neighbor warning which mismatched in cell map; Handover performance presented, inquiry of HO out and HO in neighbor, as well as inquiry of the neighbor parameter. When the change power shows: it will show you bad handoff performance which existing in current neighbor relationship. The application will offer friendly interactive conversation for importing neighbor database in order to support all the facility application, as we known, neighbor database can be acquired easily from operator service. In addition, it can include lots of parameter in neighbor relationship, which is convenient for the neighbor parameter’s inquiry during troubleshooting and analysis to a special case situation. This is the advantage of neighbor by using independent and columned database.
2.Neighbor operation application: add and delete the neighbor on cell map directly, and you can choose different operation mode between one-way neighbor relation and two-way neighbor relation. Operation result will be outputted in many related executable file according to the original cell’s BSC homing. In the case of neighbor operation in dual band network, it creates a DCS layer automatically in order to make operation easier. Now it can support vendors including MOTOROLA and NOKIA system, you can use it by modifying vendor configuration. The other facility and system have not applied directly and more vendor extensions are considerable.
3.Neighbor database analysis: It provide you following audit application, including one way neighbor relationship audit, BCCH & BSIC consistency examination between neighbor and cell database. Common BCCH & Common BSIC audit base on neighbor. Handover type and the related parameter audit in MOTORALA system; as well for Hua Wei system, in order to assure the target cell’s allocation correctness , it offers an audit application for Hua Wei external cell description table.
【Statistics Application Module】
1.Statistics date importation: You can import statistics in csv or txt format, it can be multi-day and multi-time. The importation should include some key words, such as LAC. CI. DATE. TIME (time is optional ); the DATE,TIME are indexed and showed by character because different manufacture chooses different data format according to their own traditional habit, the benefit is that the two words guarantee the compatibility in different vendor when importing cell KPI statistics , you can choose appending operation during importation.
2.KPI thematic map making: You can use it to create special thematic map for a particular KPI statistics subject. Map making can be done by the fixed Date, Time; At the same time, it provides main Filter function, Max(), Min(), Average()are available when generating a particular statistics subject . During our thematic map making, we can divide a KPI into multi-range and set up color for each range, and then save our configuration for later using. Each time, when it detect the KPI item was selected, the Module will call fore-mentioned configuration automatically. The KPI’s key words can be variable and the numbers of saved configuration are unlimited. In this way, it makes our analysis easier.
3.KPI trend line making: It shows the trend line of selected cell. It filters the redundant and reappearing statistics which may be caused during importation and appending operation, it works base on date and time index. The trend line showing is related to the last KPI thematic map making.
4.Statistics filter display: It shows the statistical sheet of selected cell. It filters the redundant and reappearing statistics which may be caused during importation and appending operation, it works base on date and time index. If the user doesn’t set up the filter item, the statistics showed is all. Usually, we analyze some certain key performance, we only concern about some of statistics subject. In order to replace the frozen function in EXCEL form, we develop this filter feature, and it will make our problem diagnosis analysis more convenient.
【Drive Test Application Module】
1.Drive test thematic map making: It can generate the thematic map layer based on RXLEV_sub & RXQUAL_sub. It provides the Range classification of signal and the color customization for each range; it also provides the storage of configuration template. The template will be called in later deployment, as well as it will be used in the other module.
2.Drive test report making: It generates related report based on RXLEV_sub & RXQUAL_sub. By the way, the fore-mentioned configuration will be deployed here.
3.DT conjunctional line making: It provides DT conjunctional line making with the dominant service cell. It supports conditional conjunctional line making by customer definition, as well as do selection on drive test map. During customer definition, it provides template storing, template maintenance and template calling application. With those features, it become more and more convenient to do special analysis, such as analysis of the bad quality, weak coverage, different event cases, half rate coding speech, band deployment audit, overshooting issue, etc. Application cases can be filtered by the complicated condition, different operator < like, or, and, =, etc> are available in conditional expression. The conjunctional line making algorithms are optimized, as well as it introduce a new feature, the same layer and same color in conjunctional line making show common BCCH cases, if it is too close or overlapping ,it indicates the RF hit existing in related BCCH channel.
4.DT importation interaction: It supports the importation of drive test data which saved in csv or txt format, so it can be used more easily in different measure equipment and applied to various cases analysis.
【Google Earth Application Module】
1.Export DT map to Google Earth: Based on the fore mentioned Range classification and Color customization in DT configuration, RXLEV & RXQUAL will be exported to related Folder in Google Earth, so the user can choose which thematic map should be concerned about.
2.Export Cell map to Google Earth: it supports the exportation of Cell map to the Google Earth. It provides the configuration of labels and describes which to be shown in Google Earth. It supports the linear style and sectorial style exportation, 2D and 3D model are available when exports are sectorial style, but Height should be included in Cell table when the 3D model is exported, the height information is relative Height of the base station to the earth.
3.Export DT line link to Google Earth: According to the conjunctional line making results created with dominant service cell in Mapinfo, it leads the operation of exportation DT line link to Google Earth. Those line links indicate the conjunction relations between MS and dominant service cell. By using the satellite map, we can have a good command of the conditions surrounding dominant service cell, and give analyst a good consideration and investigation to determine the possible causes during the troubleshooting of certain quality issues .We can also choose this DT line link layer and then re-turn the transparency of overlapping layers in Google Earth, so we can lead to the best visual effect between DT link layer and MS signal layer.
【Problematic Site Location & Antenna Coverage Audit Module】
1.Antenna Azimuth & Antenna Performance audit: It is executed by opposition coverage analysis of Antenna, and it can help us discover the unexpected coverage,
problematic azimuth record, bad front to rear power ratio, overlapping coverage caused by overshooting. For example, wrong coverage maybe caused by the wrong antenna azimuth record, it is also caused by construction or by person who misunderstand on how to read antenna direction. Bad front to rear power ratio may be caused by bad antenna performance or wireless waves reflection from building surface. Overshooting coverage is possibly caused by the antenna’s height difference between different base stations.
2.Problematic Site Location audit: we can also find out the problematic site location by using opposition coverage analysis of Antenna, Because under the right antenna azimuth, when site coordinate has larger location offset, the former positive and normal direction relation would perform as rearward vector, so problematic site location can be discovered on Cell map base on analysis of related location and rearward handover performance.
3.Principle & application: The fore mentioned application is realized according to the rearward handover statistics analysis. The idea are quite developable, it can lead to the troubleshooting because of wrong site location, problematic antenna azimuth, bad front to rear power ratio, and overshooting coverage problem caused by base station height difference. It prevent from dependence and limitation in traditional means. For example, drive test would be done in order to discover problematic site location & wrong azimuth, it will costs lots of time and expense in this traditional means. It is clear that it can help you save time and save investment, and make wireless more effective. On the other side, it guarantees the quality of the RF plan and neighbor plan, so it can give you more supports for the C/I improvement on course of radio optimization.
Attention:
The only requirement for using tools is that you should have a path:
C: /Temp.
This folder will be used to save temporary data. At the beginning of the execution, it do this examination, if it wasn’t existing, it will be created automatically, and related prompt message will be given, too.
頻率規(guī)劃應(yīng)用篇:
頻率查詢利用紅、藍(lán)、綠三基色來(lái)表示,紅表示同頻,藍(lán)表示高一位的鄰頻,綠表示低一位鄰頻。普通的頻率規(guī)劃應(yīng)用可以使用 這幾個(gè)工具來(lái)實(shí)現(xiàn),在此不在累贅。在此主要介紹以下有特色的高級(jí)頻率規(guī)劃應(yīng)用。功能相關(guān)命令有四條,執(zhí)行此命令前,必需先行指定分析的對(duì)象,通常的是特定的區(qū)域,當(dāng)然當(dāng)指定區(qū)域?yàn)槿W(wǎng)時(shí),就是分析全網(wǎng)的應(yīng)用情況了。

RF HIT Audit頻率碰撞率分析應(yīng)用主要有以下幾方面考慮:
(1)、對(duì)自動(dòng)頻率規(guī)劃工具生成的方案好壞進(jìn)行簡(jiǎn)單的評(píng)估:無(wú)論你是基于干擾統(tǒng)計(jì)原理的自動(dòng)頻率規(guī)劃,還是基于空間傳播模型生成的頻率方案,只要以上幾種線明顯增多,也就是變得更加剌眼了,那么這個(gè)頻率規(guī)劃工具出來(lái)的方案肯定有問題,這個(gè)頻率規(guī)劃工具的優(yōu)劣很值得掂量。
(2)、對(duì)出乎常規(guī)的頻率規(guī)劃干擾進(jìn)行定位。即把理想狀態(tài)下,我們認(rèn)為不可能存在干擾,而實(shí)事上存在較大重疊覆蓋或干擾的網(wǎng)絡(luò)問題呈現(xiàn)出來(lái);從而避免只根據(jù)基站相對(duì)位置和方位角來(lái)做頻率規(guī)劃的片面性和不足。此應(yīng)用為我們快速的進(jìn)行頻率問題排查定位,提供了可靠的依據(jù)。
Search for Preferred Frequency 基于傳播模型算法的優(yōu)選頻率搜索:
這是一個(gè)基于傳播模型算法的優(yōu)選頻率搜索,與上面的干擾分析搭配使用,可以及大的方便我們的工作。如圖中心位置有紅色線的小區(qū),其BCCH=33存在明顯的頻率問題,用 占擊它,通過快捷鍵F調(diào)用“Search for Preferred Frequency”來(lái)對(duì)它進(jìn)行快速的優(yōu)選頻率分析。
1、用 來(lái)選定要分析的小區(qū),在選定要分析的小區(qū)后執(zhí)行方式有三種,可以是菜單,也可以是熱鍵F,也可以是 工具,激活它的情況下,只有當(dāng)cell地圖中選擇的對(duì)像發(fā)生變化時(shí)就會(huì)Auto Run <Search for preferred Frequency>.
2、此算法只對(duì)當(dāng)前窗口中的小區(qū)進(jìn)行頻率干擾分析,因此當(dāng)調(diào)整合適的窗體大小,可以在不影響分析結(jié)果的情況下,有效的提高運(yùn)行速度。我的電腦速度是稍慢一些,但朋友的電腦上是飛快。沒辦法,咱窮人就是喜歡用它做事情,而且還是lenovo牌子的呢,那是支持咱們的民族產(chǎn)業(yè)啊。請(qǐng)記住,不要買日貸喲!
3、分析是全頻段的,所有頻率都會(huì)有一個(gè)參考電平,從-110~-43dbm,通常的90%以上的優(yōu)先頻率電平落在-80dbm以下。通過點(diǎn)擊或按光標(biāo)箭來(lái)快速查看優(yōu)先頻率的干擾情況。用戶可以在GSM,DCS,EGSM三個(gè)頻段間自由的切換查看優(yōu)選頻率的頻率規(guī)劃情況,但初始頻率是當(dāng)前小區(qū)的頻段,對(duì)于common BCCH的小區(qū),優(yōu)先及也是GSM,DCS,EGSM由高到低排序。
4、或許你要說,為什么不把鄰頻干擾去掉呢,這是一種不太好的想法。鄰頻的頻率對(duì)當(dāng)前小區(qū)可能是不可取的,但對(duì)旁邊的小區(qū)來(lái)說,它會(huì)是個(gè)很好的candidate 頻率呢?事實(shí)正是如此,很多的時(shí)候我們就是通過對(duì)調(diào)頻率位置來(lái)避免干擾的。
5、通過點(diǎn)擊“Band Configures”,在彈出的可用頻率配置對(duì)話框中,配置當(dāng)前運(yùn)營(yíng)商的可用頻率設(shè)置,以供日后工具自動(dòng)調(diào)用;在設(shè)定的頻率中,當(dāng)窗口中的小區(qū)沒有用到的頻率,其干擾電平將會(huì)以-110dbm來(lái)表示!
如下圖所示,干擾分析與優(yōu)選頻率的綜合應(yīng)用?梢越Y(jié)出排在靠前3位的94#頻率,仿真分析算出的參考干擾電平為-86,排在靠前4位的27#頻率算出的干擾電平為-85,都是很不錯(cuò)的選擇。從而大大提高了頻率的優(yōu)化的效率。
