　　foobar2000 是 由以前專門為Winamp寫插件的 Peter Pawlowski 編寫的一個革命性的高級音頻播放器。foobar2000之所以出現(xiàn)在于他不滿于Winamp 2.x的插件體系架構(gòu)和更傾向于圖形、皮膚的發(fā)展方向的Winamp3 。
　　foobar2000值得關注的在于他良好的體系架構(gòu)。除了重要的音頻管道以外，播放器所有功能部件均是模塊化的�？梢暬�的核心由一個插件提供，即使使用了不同的接口界面。
特別之處
　　得益于其卓越的體系架構(gòu)，foobar2000遠比現(xiàn)有的其他音頻播放器更完整。以下是其中的一些功能（在0.7預備版里）：
　　他支持對給定適當?shù)腗P3在輸出級別上減少間隙，比使用DSP和輸出插件來模擬要來得更好，雖然這種允許不帶有元數(shù)據(jù)的MP3來達到類似（但不是同樣）的效果的方法是可用的。
　　他播放所有支持格式時自動盡可能的無間隙播放，完美的在無損的、OGG、MPC、MP3格式上實現(xiàn)。
　　他構(gòu)建于可保存所有音軌元數(shù)據(jù)數(shù)據(jù)庫之上。
　　默認的界面使用Win32 GUI。有些可能認為是有缺陷的，但是以其能力來看，界面可以被替換為使用非標準的、可換膚的界面。

名字含義
　　“foobar2000” 這個名字沒有什么真實的含義。當 Peter 開始寫這個軟件的時候，給工程起的一個臨時的名字。當然，這個臨時名字現(xiàn)在已經(jīng)改名為foobar2000 。這里所說的foobar這個定義名詞來自于行話，當你需要一個名字但是又不知道怎么起的時候常用來做元語法變量（你在Google搜索foobar可以看到它是個臨時的變量）。2000后綴作為一個象征用來區(qū)別這個軟件有別于普通詞匯，使它看起來比較新并且美觀。
　　Foobar2000 是一個 Windows 平臺下的高級音頻播放器。包含了一些播放增益支持、低內(nèi)存占用等基本特色以及內(nèi)置支持一些流行的音頻格式。

　　Column UI 分欄面板
　　Columns UI (foo_ui_columns) 一個非常流行的界面組件。分欄界面基于分欄以及面板顯示。分欄界面官方wiki。
